Would you take one of these?
I am starting to get asked by my students if I offer private yoga sessions. When I got certified to teach two years ago, I did not have private work on my radar but am now intrigued at the idea of offering it. Would you do it? Go to or teach a private Yoga?
While on vacation a few years ago in Mexico, I took a private yoga class from this guy:
Tony Sanchez is famous in the yoga world. He can do this:
He pulled and yanked my limbs without mercy. He was perfectly safe and ethical. I was a willing and encouraging subject. The private was unplanned, I was the only person who showed up for a class at the Four Seasons. I have no idea how I got so lucky. The experience was so profound, I came back to my little villa and told my husband my life was forever changed. I was right.
The Dali Lama says we should be the change we want to see in the world. If I could somehow be a part of that process, I would be so honored and humbled and happy. Whereas I would never leave teaching in a group environment, I love that setting so much, maybe I should move in this direction.
What do you think of private yoga instruction vs. group work?
